The Story of A Storyteller
From as long as he can remember, Daniel "Starryzon" Kwok was always somebody with an overactive imagination who marched to his own drumbeat instead of following the norm. The only child of two Chinese pioneers who worked relentlessly to eventually become American citizens, Daniel experienced a very unique upbringing that encompassed a harmonious blend of American and Chinese cultural elements rich with thrilling thought-provoking tales. This undoubtedly ignited his lifelong passion for creating art and stories. Daniel's idyllic childhood was blessed with this expanded worldview as well as all the priceless human values imparted to him by his beloved and extraordinarily sagacious mother, Sally Yuk-Ying Kwok. Thus, his childhood became the necessary foundation of his artistry, creativity, and genuine sense of self. The name "Starryzon" or "Starry" for short, was fashioned to encapsulate his childhood, the subject of stars to represent his fascination with the unknown's infinite nature. The name symbolizes his insistence to live out his childhood dreams no matter what age. The StarryEmpire art brand is the result of this steadfast resolve; a culmination of many years riding the roller-coaster of life--the monsoons and droughts that hone one's artistry, ambitions, and wisdom. Through the sorrows of death and the ephemeral reality of life, Starry learned to embrace the deeper and permanent things: hopes, memories, dreams, the aforementioned beautiful unknown. For him, the arts always stood as the purest channel to express one's truest identity. Through the arts, he finds the freedom to wonder, the strength to surmount life's tragedies, the ability to immortalize his family and create something meaningful to positively impact others in this world. StarryEmpire is the manifestation of these endeavors, feelings, and intentions. Starryempire is his purpose. Starryempire IS his whole being.
